| President's Message Nestled in a superb
natural setting at the foot of Mt. Asama, Citizen Miyota
has, since its establishment
in 1959, steadily grown into the prosperous business
it is today. Over the years, the company has boldly met
the challenges posed by a succession of technological
frontiers, taking full advantage of its wealth of knowledge
concerning precision-processing and assembly technologies,
assets which have been nurtured through the production
of timepieces - the backbone of our business. Our long
history of endeavor has provided us with strength in
the manufacture and supply of devices such as quartz
oscillators, electronic viewfinders and LCD back-light
units, allowing us to earn high acclaim from customers
worldwide. As the new millennium opens before us, the
marketplace is witnessing one upheaval after another.
In response to such a market environment, we are striving
not only to consolidate our existing lines of business,
but also to promote newer lines such as electronic devices
and liquid crystal devices - expanding our lineup of
original products in an effort to diversify our sources
of revenue. By pushing forward with the globalization
of R&D, marketing and production as well as promoting
environment-related activities, we are determined to
make Citizen Miyota an even more dynamic and attractive company
capable of shining brightly in the global marketplace
of the 21st century. |
