Citizen Miyota's ferroelectric
micro liquid crystal displays, developed and manufactured
in collaboration with Display Tech Corporation of the U.S.,
are next-generation liquid crystal devices that, in comparison
with conventional TFT liquid crystal devices, feature exceptionally
high response performance.
As such, it has become possible to produce high-resolution
and high-brightness displays while at the same time achieving
significant cost reductions. These micro LCDs find application
in a wide range of product categories, such as rear-projection-type
PC monitors, wide-screen TVs, liquid-crystal front projectors,
head mount displays, and digital (video) cameras.
